Sara Hartland-Rowe’s ZK/U project continues her exploration of the way objects, architecture, creatures, light and color speak, silently, to each other within the city environment. The descendant of German Jews, Sara’s project includes working with an almost life-size avatar that will join her on her exploration of Moabit and the Spandauer Vorstadt. Drawings and photographs become the basis of paintings in which Sara pushes the degree to which description can be pared down, so that narrative arises from a visual experience rather than a discursive one.
