extending limbs / making moves - Daniella Mooney

"Self Portrait as a Stone Vessel" (c) Southern Guild, 2016

Daniella Mooney ( South Africa )

Extending limbs / making moves, or the stones we carry, is a small laboratory which takes shape over the space of two months at ZKU.  During her residency stay the artist Daniella Mooney looks to flesh-out a fledgling toolbag for resourcefulness. Drawing on previous projects and collaborations started in Berlin over the past two years, Mooney takes inspiration from dancers who are friends, builders who care and makers at the edges. Developing on from a sculptural background, she looks for a more integrated and embodied art-practise, extending gestures and tools as an non-specialist into new environments.  Moving through shared space collecting stories around what it means to be resourceful. The project will be realised through various forms of documentation and methods of archive.
