While at ZK/U, Sophia Schultz Rocha will be investigating relationships and synchronicities between humans and nature within the intersection of healing and activism. Through understanding the body as an archive for memory and knowledge, the artist proposes the inclusion of nature and plants as record-keepers. Over the three months the artist will be working on a video piece using the landscape, the body, and medicinal plants to look at restoration, “species loneliness”, and agency. The project will be informed by interviews and conversations with people and communities in Berlin who work between nature and the body. From the video and collected conversations the artist hopes to create a small guide of the Re-imagining and re-imagingof what the world could be with the intersections of humans and nature from an anti-capitalist framework.
