Project at ZK/U - Evrim Kavcar

Evrim Kavcar ( Turkey )

The backbone of this project is the repetitive practice of making mud balls in the parks of Berlin. Open to ecologists, biologists, park authorities, and linguists to further the project with their own fields of specialization. With discussions regarding body and memory, politics and poetics of public space, and questions like how circumstances shape us, how we shape the material and how the material shapes us, the outcome is a matter of transformation. Keeping track of stories, documentations can be transformed into an animated film to commemorate the mud.

The stipend of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe is made possible in the frame of a cooperation between the neue Gesellschaft für bildende Kunst (nGbK) and the ZK/U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik in Berlin as well as DEPO in Istanbul.
