Reading Ghosts – Session 3

Avery Gordon
26 APRIL 2026 / 16:00–18:00
Reading Ghosts is a reading group at ZK/U accompanying the project Ari in Transit at ZK/U. Ari, the peace statue, sits at the table as a participant. In five sessions, we read across history, migration, critical theory, and diasporic literature to ask: Who are the ghosts of German cultural memory?
Session 3 introduces haunting as a method through Avery Gordon's Ghostly Matters — the argument that what appears absent is still structurally present.
This group welcomes anyone willing to read and think together — artists, curators, researchers, or otherwise. Sessions are held in English. If you're interested in joning, please email johnshlee1(at)gmail.com.
