Rawan Maraqa

(Jordan)

Rawan Maraqa is a Jordanian artist and design graduate from the German Jordanian University whose work explores the intersection of language, memory, and emotion. With a strong interest in Arabic calligraphy & oil painting, she creates vivid pieces that blend bold colors with intricate detail. Often starting with simple Arabic phrases filled with comfort, humor, or quiet sadness; such as "هانت" (it’ll pass) or "حصل خير" (it happened for the best).

Rawan transforms these everyday expressions into rich, visual stories. Her art invites viewers to feel the deeper emotional meaning behind the words, transcending language barriers. It speaks not only to Arabic speakers but to anyone who has sought reassurance, smiled through uncertainty, or found beauty in the unspoken moments of life. Through her paintings, Rawan builds a bridge between cultures and emotions, offering a message of hope, connection, and resilience that resonates universally. Her work continues to evolve, reflecting both personal experience and shared human feelings.
