R. Stein Wexler

R. Stein Wexler (she/her/hers) is a public artist and urban planner based in the United States. 

She specializes in the development, execution, and management of conceptually-driven public artworks, public art programs, and public space interventions. Her work asserts the existence of overlooked identities and histories, while revealing links that bind communities to the spaces they inhabit, and the lifetimes those spaces have witnessed.

Stein has worked in and with a variety of stakeholders including neighborhood groups, local government staff and elected officials, non-profits, research institutions, and consulting agencies. She holds a Masters in City and Regional Planning from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Bachelors in English from UC-Berkeley.
