Peter Polack

Peter Polack is an artist and researcher whose practice concerns the lived and embodied reality of political concepts, speculations, and systems. His background in game development, computer science, and political theory is inflected by his experience with abolitionist organizing and chronic illness, which manifests in his work as tensions and conflicts between different ways of knowing. In his games, fictions, and speculative artifacts, aesthetics grapple with logic to expose political events and possibilities happening at other scales than normally imagined. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD in Information Studies from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where his dissertation examined how algorithms should encourage us to rethink our understanding of political subjects and governance.
