Pawel Jankiewicz is a writer from Sieradz, Poland, currently living and working in Berlin. He finished law studies in Gdańsk and Łódź with thesis on art scandals and their normative entanglements; then he embraced physical labour as means to flesh out his literary position. Drawing on critical art doxa – the ethos of being part of what gets criticized, the guiding metaphor of the virus – his work develops a literature that switches the "inside" and "outside" of the cultural field. Thus, it revaluates the body, the first-hand experience, and a language alert to hypertrophy of signification. While retaining a stylized philosophical lingo, his work links to the colloquial and the local, the wastelands of precarity, and to the weakened universal.

He’s been engaged in numerous collaborations; from reading performances (AHAB) and academic tests (with Pablo Arboleda), to group shows (P145), podcasts (Radio Klang, Ashar Mumtaz) and individual artists (Michael Hazell, Noriaki).

Politically active, he’s a member of "Razem" in Berlin, DiEM25, and The Progressive International.
