Jules van den Langenberg (1988, The Netherlands) develops scripted works. In the role of curator, exhibition maker, film director, and writer he develops scenographies, installations and publications. Throughout his life, in friendships, education, and travels, Van den Langenberg focuses on the dramaturgical and immersive qualities found in informal social infrastructures of schools and small towns, the longing for class mobility, and the uncanny stacking of networks. From 2018 onwards Van den Langenberg focuses on the speculative powers of film and exhibition-making; how to produce a reality in fiction by escalating the chain of relations between people, places, and problems? He continues to cross-dissolve his growing networks and relationships within the fine arts and creative industries, in search of what estrangement can provide in our society.

In the past five years, Van den Langenberg made exhibitions and programs at Van Abbemuseum, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Textielmuseum, London Design Biennale, and Dim Sun Lausanne. His texts include De Witte Raaf, Sandberg Instituut, artist Wouter Paijmans and he lectured at Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe, Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and Design Academy Eindhoven. Collaborations include amongst other artist Saskia Noor van Imhoff, curator Laurens Otto, performer Ivan Cheng, strategist Willem Schenk, video artists Lernert & Sander, trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort, architect Rianne Makkink, filmmaker Simon Becks, and school director Jurgen Bey.
