Jamie Denburg Habie is a Guatemalan artist and cultural practitioner whose work explores how perception is shaped through the body. Drawing on neuroscience and somatic practices, she works across painting, performance, and guided meditation to develop participatory artworks that use breath and movement as primary tools of inquiry. Rather than representing experience, her work sets conditions for it—highlighting attention, sensation, and relation as sites of knowledge.

Denburg Habie’s work has been presented internationally in Guatemala City, Berlin, Paris, Basel, New York City, and Los Angeles, including at Centro Cultural de España (Guatemala City) and Museo del Barrio (New York City). Most recently, her work was exhibited at LISTE (Galería Extra, Basel, 2025) and in the solo exhibitions Three Bodies (Vorfluter, Berlin, 2025) and Tiempoanimal (Galería Extra, Guatemala City, 2025). She has undertaken residencies at MASS MoCA, Residency Unlimited, GlogauAIR, and Casa Wabi.

Outside her artistic practice, she is the co-founder and former director of La Nueva Fábrica (est. 2013), a nonprofit contemporary art center and residency program in Antigua, Guatemala, dedicated to supporting artists and connecting voices across the Americas and beyond. She graduated from the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University, where she focused on the role of art in conflict-affected cultures and developed an interdisciplinary approach to her practice.
