Jaeyeon Chung

(South Korea)

Jaeyeon Chung studied Fine Art at the Korean National University of Arts and Chelsea College of Art and Design. She works with a variety of materials and media on projects that are often constructed longitudinally and site responsively. Her practice primarily focuses on public engagement and the interrelationships between the artist, artwork, exhibition space and audience. Her work is often site-specific and site-responsive installation and incorporates signs, architectural features, video, and interventions in public spaces. Recently she has been exploring the issue of public entitlement, the right to public participation, the nature of public discourse and indeterminate art works whose meanings are co-constructed through processes of audience participation.

She gratefully acknowledges Artist Residency TEMI for their valuable support.
