Edoardo's project investigates the metropolitan landscape through a participatory, research-based photography practice that aim to involve artistic inquiry and methodologies from urban studies, social sciences, and STEM disciplines. Building on my ongoing research into the cultural, symbolic, and material life of everyday objects, the project approaches urban infrastructures and ordinary artifacts as carriers of social narratives and collective imaginaries.
During the residency, artists, researchers, and urban practitioners will be invited to participate in an intensive workshop on large-format analogue photography, using the medium as a slow and intentional method of observation. The collaborative image-making process will generate a shared visual investigation of Berlin's urban micro-environment, encouraging dialogue across disciplinary perspectives. The resulting photographs, together with texts, archival materials, and field notes, will be assembled into multi-medium cartographies that offer plural interpretations of metropolitan life, highlighting overlooked details and proposing photography as a collective tool for urban research and knowledge production.
