Jet Leopold

Jet Leopold is a dutch interdisciplinary artist trained in arts therapy. Their project To question Existence explores how we live as an individual in a system that is a build up of many systems and what is means to be conscious of /within it. Through conversations with the public and literature, they explore the different elements of the systems we live in and collate perspectives, aiming at outlining the systems structure to highlight the similarities that shape differences. From here, stories start to shape which are visualised oil paintings, writings, installations and performances out of them. Interdisciplinary works that express the complexity and multilayeredness of the information they hold.

As the project developed, it became clear the project is not necessarily about finding answers, it’s about provoking questioning. Within this realisation the barrier between research and resulting artworks starts to fade, the research method becomes the art.
A new direction they are exploring is about where in history we find stories about hidden knowledge, erased to oppress our inner understanding and natural rhythm. What is real and what is right? What do we see when we look through different lenses, from different perspectives, listen to different frequencies?

How do we know for sure things are true?
