Project at ZK/U - Nermin Er

Nermin Er ( Turkey )

The state of enforced migration from familiar/homelands arising from changing conditions due to environmental/political crises is a real and daily narrative for many, both human and animal. Nermin Er's research within this challenging subject will focus on considering particular migratory patterns of bird species, which she hopes will open up a space to investigate the dynamics of this particular shift together with but not exclusive to the politics of forced migration of peoples. Choosing from species whose migratory path lies over Turkey and Germany and other parts of Europe, she will research the changing routes, flight patterns, flight behaviours, and physical characteristics of species. Through her research, she intends to create an allusive catalog that is interrupted by imaginary hybrid species. The catalog will be one that uses the forms of sound, drawing, animation, sculpture, and writing.
