The City, The Cannibal & Asia - Jason Wee

Jason Wee ( Singapore )

I work mostly alone, trying out the different material configurations of an installation that I am working out, but also in reading, which is often how I start working on a new body of work. During my residency, I was working through a stack of written material on the cannibal as a possible figuration of a certain logic of urban destruction and redevelopment. At the same time, I didn't want to get too comfortable with how I usually work, and decided to organize a reading and writing workshop on a post-super-future-Asia, to challenge me to read and write collectively, to think aloud and to risk failure and ignorance.
