Steve Rowell is currently working on a project about overlaps between technological, human, and non-human realms. A primary component of the project relies on remote sensing techniques as a way of acquiring autonomous, minimally mediated perceptions of the world around us. By incorporating this material into my media and investigations about specific sites and landscapes, I construct spatial narratives and temporal speculations. At the ZK/U, Steve will focus on various remote sensing labs and centers of study, namely the Department Geodesy and Remote Sensing at the Helmholtz Center Potsdam, German Center for Geosciences (GFZ); the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research; and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) at Adlershof.
This residency is made possible thanks to the partnership with Villa Aurora.
