Prelude of the 4th Kitakyushu Biennale (Japan) with videos by John Miller, Young-hae Chang Heavy Industries, Mike Bode and others compiled by Takuji Kogo (Candy Factory).

The 4th Kitakyushu Biennial will be opening as a touring project in 2013.
The project begins as a screening event at ZKU Berlin in August, followed by exhibitions at Busan South Korea TOTATOGA archive center in September, and main venues at the Soap Gallery Kitakyushu Japan from September to December and continues on to Singapore at the private museum from October to December.
The 4th Kitakyushu Biennial theme entitled " i " ( information ) consists of re-mixes of fragments of information developed as collaborative works under *Candy factory Projects directed by Takuji Kogo.
At the screening events and exhibitions several new works will be presented, amongst others an ongoing collaboratiive project with John Miller entitled "ROBOT", a series of musical projects which transform online personal advertisments.
A text animation of teenage V-logger's "My Room Tour" in collaboration with Mike Bode together with other photo works created online: A *Candy Factory Project / After the Age of Mechanical Reproduction.
A new multilingual project with Young-hae Chang Heavy Industries, a roll play of a Korean Bus tour guide for DMZ , the border between south and north Korea.
And "Beaches" a long term collaborative film with Charles Lim about the borders of Singapore as a work of land art.
The screening events will also include TURKMENBASHI, MON AMOUR by Martine Neddam, a love letter to the former dictator of the secretive country Turkmenistan from her factious online personality Mouchette.
The exhibitions in Kitakyushu will include an installation work entitled "SITE" by Sean Snyder, a juxtabo of information from different news sources about the site where Saddam Hussein was captured in 2003.
A video sculpture "Self-Censored Live Broadcast" by Takuji Kogo and Keiichi Miyagawa presenting a view of one of the gates of the Emperors Palace in Tokyo where the Japanese network TV continuiously broad casted live for 4 months when the Showa emperor was dying in 1996.

The Kitakyushu Biennial curated by *CANDY FACTORY PROJECTS , a Japanese based platform for international collaborative art projects The first Kitakyushu Biennial "CUTE or CREEPY?" opened at Kitakyushu Japan in 2007, "IMIN : Migrants, Immigrants, Emigrants, Refugees, Exiles, Expatriates and Others" October 2009. The 3rd Kitakyushu Biennial / a sequel with the same title "IMIN" in 2011.
Since 2012 *CANDY FACTORY PROJECTS has been taking its collaborative projects from the Kitakyushu Biennial on a World tour.
KITAKYUSHU BIENNIAL in SINGAPORE opened in April 2012 at The Private Museum Singapore and KITAKYUSHU BIENNIAL in BERLIN opened at the newly established ZK/U in Berlin in September 2012.
*CANDY FACTORY PROJECTS was originally set up as an exhibition space housed in a former candy factory in Yokohama, Japan in 1998. It moved to the Yokohama Triennale in 2001, the Akiyoshidai International Art Village in 2002. BOOGIE WOOGIE WONDERLAND in Yamaguchi Japan 2003, SCREAM Färgfabriken Stockholm 2004 Sweden, Art Metropole in Toronto, Canada 2004, "JAPAN" at the Rooseum Centre for Contemporary Art in Malmö, Sweden 2005, "Hyperlinks for dead links" at the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art in Japan in 2006.
